Kozí hrádek

Kozí hrádek is a defense tower from the 15th century perched on a rocky hill above Mikulov. The structure has two stories, was built with firing loops for defense, and features a gallery on one side for protective purposes.

The tower was built in the 15th century to protect a major trade route between Brno and Vienna. It was part of a broader defense system designed to safeguard the region from attacks.

You can visit the tower when the flag is displayed or by arranging a visit by telephone in advance. The climb involves a steep spiral staircase and rewards you with views across the town.

The structure has a distinctive blade-like shape that hints at medieval combat techniques and sets it apart from other fortifications. Together with two other hills, it defines Mikulov's skyline and often appears in historical images of the town.
