Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, Catholic church in Nové Hamry, Czech Republic.

The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk is a single-nave, rendered masonry church with a rectangular plan and a three-sided recessed presbytery, built in Nové Hamry in 1789. A square tower with an octagonal slate pyramid roof was added to the west facade in 1810; the nave has a gable roof covered in eternit, and a small polygonal bell turret with a bell roof sits on the ridge. The entrance leads through the tower's smooth rectangular portal with a keystone.

The village belonged to the parish of St. Martin in Neudek until 1785, when it became its own parish; because the winter road to Neudek was difficult, a church was approved on the initiative of the estate's director Andreas Graser. The foundation stone was laid in 1787 and the building, financed by the religious fund, was finished in 1789 on a hilltop site chosen by the Prague auxiliary bishop Krieger. The prismatic west tower was added in 1810, and after 1945 the unused church fell into disrepair before being declared a cultural monument in 1958 and later renovated.

The village belonged to the parish of St. Martin in Neudek until 1785, when Neuhammer became its own parish; the church was built at the expense of the religious fund. Its patron is St. John of Nepomuk. In 1815 the benefactor Johann Lauber from house no. 90 donated a glass chandelier, and the interior furnishings are uniformly Rococo.

The church stands on a hill above the village, at a site chosen by Prague auxiliary bishop Erasmus Dionys Krieger. The entrance leads through the base of the west tower, whose square plan carries a slate-covered pyramidal roof. A cemetery with a few surviving German gravestones surrounds the building.

The three original bells, said to date from 1735–1745, rang for the last time on 20 January 1917 from noon to one o'clock before being taken down and melted for military use. Four new bells were acquired after World War I and consecrated on 11 July 1926, but none of these survive either.
