Rudenská luční prameniště

Rudenská luční prameniště is a protected natural area featuring spring-fed meadows with moss-covered fens, transitional wetlands, and acidic grasslands spread across roughly 23 hectares. The site is divided into three distinct sections that maintain their water sources year-round.

The area avoided large-scale agricultural transformation during the intensive farming period of the 1900s, allowing its natural wetland character to survive largely unchanged. Official protection status was granted in 2020.

The site serves as a learning space where visitors can observe how wetland ecosystems function and why certain plants thrive in waterlogged soil. Local groups use the area to deepen people's connection with nature and raise awareness about conservation.

Access is available through marked walking trails that wind through the site, with boundary markers and protection signs defining the protected zones. Wear sturdy footwear since the ground can be wet and muddy depending on the season.

The spring-fed meadows shelter uncommon orchid varieties such as purple orchid and early marsh orchid, which appear rarely in landscapes of this type. Mountain arnica also grows here, an alpine plant that thrives far from its typical high-altitude habitats.
