The Burial Chapel of the Auerspergs in Vlašim is a free-standing neoclassical funeral chapel on a rectangular plan, built in 1884 in the park of the former cemetery. Its north front, turned toward St Giles Church, has a portico on two square pillars, a triangular pediment with a stone cross and the metal inscription PAX VOBIS, and an alliance coat of arms of the Auersperg and Festetics families. Inside, a barrel vault with a skylight covers a floor of black and white tiles laid diagonally, with a granite slab marked 1884 over the crypt entrance.

The Vlašim estate passed to the Auerspergs in 1744 through the marriage of Marie Josefa of Trautson to Karl Josef of Auersperg. The family first buried its dead at St Giles' Church, whose crypt Marie Josefa had adapted in 1790. The freestanding chapel was built in 1884 on the parish cemetery; Johanna Auersperg, née Festetics, was interred there first, followed by her husband Adolf Karl and their son. After the cemetery closed in 1979 the remains were moved to the crypt under St Giles'.

The chapel shows how wealthy families honored their deceased while displaying their importance in the community. The careful design reveals how much burial places mattered for showing social standing.

The chapel stands alone in a park north of Prokopova Street, on the site of the former cemetery of St Giles, which was abolished in 1979. The entrance front faces St Giles' Church, to which a direct path once led across the cemetery. The building belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Vlašim.

The chapel's north front deliberately faces the church of St Giles, and a straight path once led from it across the cemetery. Because of this orientation the altar inside faces south, contrary to custom. The sandstone statue of the Virgin and Child that stood here was moved in the 1990s to the porch of the dean's church nearby.
