Mlýnský pramen, Thermal spring in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic
Mlýnský spring is a thermal mineral water source in Karlovy Vary that emerges at about 58°C. The water flows continuously from the ground and is made accessible in a drinking hall where visitors can taste it directly.
The spring was first documented in the 16th century and took its name from a mill that operated on the Teplá riverbank until the 18th century. The Mill Colonnade that surrounds it today was built in the second half of the 19th century as part of the spa town's development.
The spring sits within the Mill Colonnade, an elegant curved structure from the late 19th century. Visitors come here to drink the mineral water and admire the classical architecture surrounding the space.
Access is on foot through Karlovy Vary's historic streets, about a ten-minute walk from the center. The area is well marked and easy to find if you head toward the Teplá River.
The water contains fluorides and silicic acid, known for centuries for their soothing effects on the stomach. Many visitors drink the warm water directly from special cups available in the drinking hall.
