Kaple svatého Martina na Zadních Paštích

Saint Martin Chapel stands between two large linden trees in the abandoned settlement of Zadní Paště. The small building has a thatched roof, white walls, and glass doors and windows that allow views into the illuminated interior.

Built in the 17th century as part of the Scheinosthof estate, the chapel was restored in 1918. It later deteriorated during decades of abandonment before being reconstructed.

The chapel holds annual services each Saint Martin's Day, drawing visitors to this remote spot in the forest. A memorial board near the entrance lists villagers lost to the 1918 flu outbreak, connecting the building to the community's past.

The chapel sits deep in forest at about 800 meters elevation and requires some effort to reach. Good hiking gear and knowledge of local trails help, especially during winter months.

Two farmsteads, Scheinosthof and Sallerhof, once stood here and worked the surrounding lands. The chapel remains as the only trace of this vanished settlement now swallowed by forest.
