The castle structure, given to the Liechtenstein family in 1249 by Přemysl Otakar II, transformed into a museum in 1950 after extensive renovations.
The museum's library holds 11,000 volumes from the former Piarist grammar school, representing centuries of regional literary and educational development.

The castle cellar houses a massive wine barrel from 1643 with a capacity of 1010.18 hectoliters, used historically for collecting wine taxes.
