Chapel of Saint Anne, Religious monument in Jeseník, Czech Republic

The Chapel of Saint Anne is a single-nave chapel on Křížový vrch (Cross Hill) above Jeseník, oriented roughly southeast. Its presbytery is the same width as the nave, with a small sacristy attached on the right; a slender tower fronts the entrance facade, which has a small balcony above the portal. The exterior is plain and unarticulated, and the interior holds a neo-Gothic main altar.

A wooden chapel stood on Křížový vrch above Jeseník in the 17th century; in the 19th century it was replaced by a small masonry chapel. That chapel was enlarged and completed in 1845–1846, with fittings added until 1847. Its tower bell was requisitioned in 1916, a replacement cast by Oktáv Winter of Broumov was taken in 1942, and a bell from elsewhere was hung in 1947. A major reconstruction followed in the 1980s.

The chapel stands on Křížový vrch (Cross Hill) above Jeseník and belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Jeseník. Its name refers to Saint Anne, and the building is not listed as a protected monument. The bell in the tower has been replaced several times: one was requisitioned in 1916, a new one cast by Oktáv Winter of Broumov was taken in 1942, and a bell from elsewhere was hung in 1947.

The chapel is reached via marked hiking trails from central Jeseník. It is wise to wear sturdy footwear and allow time to experience the entire Stations of the Cross route.
