The synagogue features neo-Renaissance architectural elements with a flat roof and spans 11 by 13 meters in the courtyard of a residential building.
The prayer house opened its doors in September 1899, just in time for Rosh Hashanah celebrations, after property owner Eduard Fanta negotiated with officials.
By 1930, the synagogue served approximately 3000 Jewish individuals in Prague 7, with the congregation growing due to arrivals from Germany and annexed territories.

One of the final ceremonies in this synagogue was the bar mitzvah of Arno Buxbaum in April 1941, before his tragic deportation to Terezin.
