Rochňovec Castle

Rochňovec Castle is a fortified structure with stone walls and architectural features built between 1701 and 1702. The grounds contain the Chapel of the Holy Trinity and gardens with paths that connect different areas of the property.

Vilém Leopold Kinsky initiated the building of this castle in the early 18th century, blending Baroque and Italian building styles. It remained an important point in the region for over two centuries as ownership and use changed.

The Dobřenský family shaped the place during their ownership from 1836 to 1948, making it part of the local story. Visitors today can see how the estate reflects the life and choices of those who lived here.

The castle is located in an area with good transport links to Pardubice and Havlíčkův Brod, making it relatively easy to reach. Marked paths provide clear access to the grounds and help you explore the different areas.

The castle sits within Chotěboř's protected monument zone, an area that preserves historical buildings from many different periods. This location lets you see how different architectural styles from various centuries exist side by side in the same neighborhood.
