Zaryje, جبل
Zaryje is a fortified house near Vratimov in the Czech Republic, situated on a slope above a river terrace of the Ostravice. Today, only earthworks and stone foundations remain, showing where walls and towers once stood.
The site dates to the late 13th century and was part of a network of guard posts along the Ostravice River. It served as a small fortress to watch over the area and protect the river route.
The site is free and open to visit with no ticket or special permission needed. You can reach the ruins on foot from the main road through fields or from the north along a trail that follows the edge of a field.
The site's natural slope makes it a strategic defensive position with steep terrain dropping behind the ruins. Local tradition mentions a watchtower that allowed people to spot danger from afar and monitor travelers along the river route.
