Permoníkova naučná stezka

Permoníkova is an educational trail through the districts of Michálkovice and Slezská Ostrava with eight information panels that explain the local environment along the way. The route connects religious buildings, an old mine site, a railway viaduct, and a pond in a circular path.

The trail was created in 2018 and starts and ends at the protected Michal Mine, which preserves the coal mining heritage of the region. This connection to mining history illustrates how industry once shaped the local economy and landscape.

The trail passes by several religious buildings that show how faith communities shaped local identity over time, including an Orthodox chapel and a church dedicated to the Assumption.

The circular route is easy to walk throughout the year and works well for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. The flat terrain means you can walk at your own pace without struggling with steep climbs or difficult sections.

The trail crosses a notable railway viaduct that offers an interesting viewpoint during your walk. This structural feature often becomes a highlight for visitors who notice the engineering work that connects different parts of the area.
