"Podševcovská" Spring, Natural spring box in Lázeňské lesy, Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

The Podševcovská Spring is a maintained spring box at 510 metres on Sovova stezka in the Karlovy Vary spa forests, near the Linhart game reserve and the Luční rybníky observation walkway. Its water comes from a forest pipeline fed by local springs; it is not drinking water.

Springs near Sovova stezka were repeatedly rebuilt: a tiled wall once stood here and an ordinary tap drew water from the then-unnamed source, and some such taps later vanished. In June 2001 the forest administration Lázeňské lesy Karlovy Vary restored the spring and gave it the name Podševcovská. The name recalls the former Schusterbrünnel, Czech Švecovská, which stood higher up the slope.

The name comes from the former Schusterbrünnel, a spring once located higher up the slope; the lower spring was called Podševcovská, meaning "below the shoemaker's spring". The water is not potable, so it is not used for drinking cures like the town's thermal springs.
