Kaple Andělů Strážných

The Chapel of Guardian Angels stands near Pustkovec District Office and features a single nave structure typical of small Orthodox churches. The interior contains wooden icons and an ornate iconostasis that forms the focal point of the sacred space.

The chapel was built in 1882 on land donated by the municipality during a period of Orthodox community growth in the region. It underwent repairs following damage during World War II and eventually came under Orthodox Church ownership in 2016.

The chapel brings together worshippers from Czech, Ukrainian, Greek, and Belarusian backgrounds who share services in their own languages. This multilingual gathering makes the space a living meeting point for different Orthodox traditions within the neighborhood.

The chapel sits within easy walking distance of public transportation, with stops located roughly 80 meters away for convenient access. The location near the district offices makes it straightforward to find during daytime visits.

The interior underwent complete renovation after moisture damage destroyed original wall paintings created by Silesian artist Valentin Držkovic in 1949. This restoration gave the space a fresh foundation while adapting to the needs of its modern multilingual congregation.
