Robert T. Webb Sculpture Garden, Sculpture garden at Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, Georgia, US
The Robert T. Webb Sculpture Garden is a five-acre space with over 50 outdoor sculptures positioned among mature trees, shrubs, and seasonal plantings. The works span three distinct areas of the property and include pieces in steel, stone, and glass.
Robert Webb created this permanent collection in 2010 by raising funds to acquire works from American and Canadian artists. The project began as an effort to provide lasting public access to contemporary art.
The garden displays works from both established and emerging artists, creating a space where different artistic voices are shown together. You can experience how contemporary sculpture integrates with nature, with paths designed to make you walk around and between the pieces.
The garden provides free cell phone audio guides that offer detailed information about each sculpture as you walk the paths. The layout makes it easy to explore all three sections at your own pace without getting lost.
Susan Rankin's Standing Grove in Blues and Greens is the first glass sculpture in the garden and stands out among the metal and stone works. The way light passes through the glass changes the sculpture's appearance throughout the day.
