Capital Wheel

The Capital Wheel is a Ferris wheel in National Harbor with 42 enclosed gondolas that rotate gently above the Potomac River. The structure rises approximately 180 feet (55 meters) and provides sweeping views of the surrounding area during the ride.

The observation wheel was built in 2014 and drew inspiration from similar structures found in Europe. The project required substantial materials and expertise to construct this landmark above the river.

The wheel serves as a gathering place where visitors from the surrounding region come together to share the experience of the panoramic views. It has become a spot where people mark special moments and create memories with friends and family.

The gondolas are heated and air-conditioned, making rides comfortable in any weather. It's best to visit during less crowded times or on overcast days for clearer views across the river.

On clear days, visitors can spot multiple well-known locations from the gondolas simultaneously, including historical sites and distant neighborhoods. This combination of viewpoints creates a geographically rich experience.
