Vermonica, Light sculpture in East Hollywood, United States
Vermonica features 25 street lights arranged in a row, each representing different designs used throughout Los Angeles from 1925 to 1992.
The installation emerged in 1993 as a response to the Los Angeles riots, transforming a damaged strip mall into a public art space.
The sculpture serves as an educational display of Los Angeles street lighting history, showcasing the evolution of urban infrastructure design.
Visitors can find the reinstalled sculpture on Santa Monica Boulevard at Lyman Place, opposite the Cahuenga Branch Library.
The collection includes original street lights spanning seven decades, creating an outdoor museum of urban lighting technology.
