Congregation B'nai Abraham, Orthodox synagogue in Society Hill, Philadelphia, United States
The Byzantine Revival synagogue on Lombard Street features ornate architectural details, including decorative stonework and a prominent central dome.
Established in 1874, the congregation constructed its current building in 1910 at a cost of $28,000, designed by architect Charles W. Bolton & Sons.
Daily, Shabbat, and holiday services follow the Ashkenazi rite, maintaining traditional Orthodox Jewish practices for the Philadelphia community.
The synagogue building at 523-527 Lombard Street accommodates up to 1,000 people and includes facilities for the Jewish Preschool program.
In July 1926, when lightning caused a fire in the building, the community successfully rescued all twenty-three Torah scrolls.
