Hill-Physick-Keith House
Hill-Physick-Keith House, Federal mansion in Society Hill, Philadelphia, United States
The brick mansion features a three-story structure with stone stringcourses, large windows, and a central entrance crowned by a half-round transom window.
Built in 1786 for wine merchant Henry Hill, the residence later became home to Dr. Philip Syng Physick, who contributed to surgical advancements in early American medicine.
The interior displays Federal period elements, including marble fireplace surrounds and Empire style furnishings that belonged to the original residents of the house.
Located at 321 South 4th Street, the museum opens Thursday through Saturday from 11 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
The structure remains the only independent Federal mansion in central Philadelphia, featuring a garden that replicates nineteenth-century landscaping designs.
