Mount Neva

Mount Neva is a summit in the Indian Peaks Wilderness with an elevation of 12,849 feet (3,914 m) featuring steep ridges and technical climbing routes. The peak shows dramatic exposed rock faces and alpine terrain that changes with the seasons.

The peak took its name from the brother of Chief Niwot, linking the mountain to the heritage of the Ute people in the Colorado region. This naming reflects the long history of Native American presence in the Rocky Mountain area.

The summit stands as number 752 among Colorado's peaks and ranks as the 28th most prominent mountain in Boulder County's climbing destinations.

The peak is accessible from the Fourth of July trailhead near Nederland, with the route including several scrambling sections requiring rock climbing skills. Visitors should prepare for alpine conditions and rapidly changing mountain weather.

The peak experiences rapidly shifting alpine weather patterns where snowfall and summer thunderstorms dominate the seasons. These harsh conditions make the route feel completely different depending on when you climb.
