Cobbosseecontee Lake is a 9-mile-long lake in Kennebec County, Maine, about 8.7 square miles in surface area and 100 feet deep, with 62 miles of shoreline. Its irregular shape comes from glacial coves and islands, the visible high points of a jagged reef running down the middle of the lake. Low hills and ridges surround the water.

The name Cobbosseecontee comes from Wabanaki and means "plenty of sturgeon." The Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club was founded in 1904 by Daniel C. Robinson, a Boston Yacht Club member who served as first commodore; it is one of the oldest continually operating inland yacht clubs in the United States. Annual ice-out dates have been recorded since 1861, during the Civil War. The club was renamed the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club Lake Association in 2019 and the Cobbosseecontee Lake Association in 2022.

The name Cobbosseecontee means "plenty of sturgeon" in Wabanaki. The Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club, founded in 1904 by Daniel C. A state-owned public boat launch sits on the southwest shore in East Monmouth. The lake is fed by natural springs and connected to Pleasant Pond via Cobbosseecontee Stream. Boaters can see down over 8 feet (2.4 m) in places since the 2000s cleanup. Ice-out dates have been logged since 1861, useful for judging when the surface opens.

Ladies' Delight Light, built in 1908, is Maine's only active inland waters lighthouse. The 25-foot (7.6 m) tower is owned and maintained by the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club and marks the northern edge of a jagged underwater reef running down the middle of the lake; the islands and exposed ledges are the visible high points of that reef.
