Memorial to Company A, Capitol Guards, Civil War memorial in MacArthur Park, Little Rock, US
The Memorial to Company A features a bronze statue of a Confederate soldier with a rifle, mounted on a 16-foot granite column.
The monument was dedicated during the United Confederate Veterans Reunion in 1911, with over 6,000 people attending the ceremony in City Park.
Three surviving members of Company A attended the dedication, where 20,000 rose petals fell as the University of Arkansas band performed.
The statue was removed from its original location in June 2020 and placed in storage following community discussions about Confederate monuments.
Austrian-born sculptor Rudolf Schwarz, known for creating Union monuments in Indiana, was commissioned to design this Confederate memorial.
