Rose Peak

Rose Peak is a summit in the Diablo Range standing at 3,817 feet with a network of trails crossing varied terrain. The routes pass through different landscape zones with changing vegetation and geological features.

The region was ancestral territory of the Ohlone people who held strong connections to the land for generations. European settlement later transformed how the area was used and managed.

The peak draws hikers who gather regularly to maintain trails and share knowledge about the land. This community involvement has made it a place where people feel connected to the mountain and its natural systems.

Weather conditions change quickly here, so bring plenty of water and dress in layers for temperature shifts. Check trail conditions before starting and wear sturdy footwear suitable for rocky and steep sections.

Winter snow accumulates less here than on surrounding peaks, making cold-season hiking possible with proper equipment. This accessibility during snowy months sets it apart from nearby summits.
