Florida State College Activities Association, Educational activities organization in Tallahassee, United States
The Florida State College Activities Association coordinates competitions and academic events across 28 colleges throughout Florida. It organizes athletic contests, intellectual competitions, and cultural programs that bring together students from different institutions.
The organization was founded in 1975 after Black colleges had been integrated into Florida's higher education system. It emerged from the need to bring students from different backgrounds together in shared academic and athletic activities.
The association oversees student performances in forensics, Brain Bowl competitions, Model United Nations, music symposiums, and fine arts conventions.
Students can join competitions in sports like baseball, softball, and volleyball as well as attend academic events like debate tournaments and speech competitions. Participation happens through the student's own enrolled college institution.
The Florida College System Student Government Association represents one million students before the Florida Legislature through elected student leaders.
