Spring Lake Recreation Area

Spring Lake Recreation Area is a 82-acre outdoor space featuring swimming, fishing, camping, and picnicking opportunities. The site contains 13 family campsites and 19 picnic units arranged throughout the grounds.

The area was developed as a public recreation space in the mid-20th century and later listed in the National Register of Historic Places. This recognition reflects its established role as a community outdoor destination over decades.

The site promotes environmental education and community engagement through scheduled events that bring together residents and visitors for outdoor activities throughout the year.

The facility operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend and uses the Recreation.gov app for entrance payments. Advance reservations are recommended since sites fill up quickly during the operating season.

Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, tent pad, fire ring, and lantern pole for convenient camping. The location near Mount Magazine State Park provides easy access to additional outdoor exploration opportunities.
