Peirce Mansion, Romanesque Revival mansion in Sioux City, United States.

Peirce Mansion is a three-story structure built from quartzite with ornate woodwork and a prominent staircase that serves as a focal point inside. The twenty-three rooms contain Victorian-era furnishings and architectural details that show how the space was originally designed and used.

John Peirce commissioned the mansion in 1893, but the family's wealth declined during the economic downturn of that era. The building changed hands several times over the following decades before eventually becoming a place open to the public.

The mansion shifted from a private home to a cultural institution that showcased the region's past, allowing visitors to see how wealthy families lived and entertained. Today it reflects the tastes and daily life of different owners who occupied these rooms over the decades.

The ground floor is accessible for visitors with mobility needs, making it easy to see the main spaces without climbing stairs. Visiting is typically done through guided tours rather than self-directed exploration, so planning ahead helps you make the most of your time there.

A third-floor ballroom hosted the Martin family's social gatherings from 1928 through 1946, showing how the space adapted to different owners' entertainment needs. This feature reflects the mansion's role in the city's social life during the early twentieth century.
