Titan II ICBM Launch Complex 374-5 Site

The Titan II ICBM Launch Complex 374-5 Site is a Cold War-era missile launch facility in Arkansas featuring underground structures and concrete platforms. The installation contains a subterranean missile silo, above-ground control buildings, and a former helicopter landing area, with most access points now sealed or filled in.

Construction began in 1961 and the facility became operational in 1963 to house and launch Titan II missiles. It was decommissioned in 1986 and later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, recognizing its importance to American military history.

The site is open to the public and free to visit. It is located on rural land outside of Springhill with convenient parking nearby and accessible from surrounding roads.

A tragic accident in 1980 destroyed a missile on the site, killing one person and exposing the dangers of these weapons systems. This event revealed the risks involved in operating and storing nuclear missiles during the Cold War.
