InvadR, Wooden roller coaster in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia
InvadR is a wooden roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia, that winds through the trees at speeds up to 48 miles per hour (77 kilometers per hour). The track runs 2,118 feet (646 meters) with a drop of 74 feet (23 meters).
The coaster opened in April 2017 following an online vote where participants chose from three Norse-inspired name options. More than 12,000 people took part in the naming process.
The ride draws its name from Norse raiders and ties into the park's Viking themes. Queue areas and track layout carry these motifs through deliberate design choices.
The ride runs two trains, each with eight cars carrying sixteen passengers in total. Riders sit side by side in two-across rows.
The ride reuses refurbished trains that previously ran on the Gwazi coaster at Busch Gardens Tampa. The wooden track combines with steel supports for stability.
