Schmidt House, also known as the Bandow Apartments, is a two-story brick building in Elkader, Iowa. It is a vernacular form of the Federal style, with a symmetrical facade, a central entrance and evenly spaced windows. A common kitchen and dining room once served the duplex, and a summer kitchen stood at the rear.

The two-story brick house was built in 1867 by Wolfgang and John Blasius Schmidt, brothers who had emigrated from Bavaria. They ran a brewery beside it until 1884, when prohibition ended brewing in Iowa. The building was converted into apartments, known as the Bandow Apartments, in the late 19th or early 20th century, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The building's name recalls the Schmidt brothers, Bavarian immigrants who ran a brewery beside the house until Iowa prohibition closed it in 1884. Later it was known as the Bandow Apartments, the name attached to its conversion into flats in the late 19th or early 20th century.

The building stands in Elkader, Iowa, not Davenport; the two-story brick duplex faces the street, so its Federal-style symmetry and central entrance can be seen from the public sidewalk. The former brewery site beside it is gone, leaving no separate structure to visit.
