W.H. Jones Mansion, Victorian mansion in Olde Towne East, Columbus, United States
The W.H. Jones Mansion features a corner turret, third story ballroom, and a carriage house with red pressed brick walls and slate roof.
William H. Jones, a dry goods store owner, constructed this residence in 1889 for $11,250 and lived there until 1923.
The mansion stands as a testament to the architectural preferences of Columbus merchants during the late nineteenth century economic growth period.
The Columbus Learning Cooperative now operates in this building, providing alternative education programs for students between ages 10 and 18.
Local community action prevented the demolition of this mansion when developers proposed replacing it with a Long John Silver's restaurant.
