Freight House

The Freight House is an industrial building from the late 1800s with heavy loading platforms and sturdy brick walls. It was built right next to the railroad tracks and has wide openings designed for moving cargo.

The building was constructed during the height of railroad expansion in the 1800s, when La Crosse was a major hub for moving goods. It served as a critical link for transferring cargo from the Mississippi River to the trains.
