Iskandar Puteri

Iskandar Puteri is a newly developed city at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula with residential neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, and business areas spread across about 2,000 acres. The different zones are connected by wide roads and follow a modern planning design.

The area was once dominated by fishing villages before it transformed into a modern city toward the end of the 1900s. The change began with large-scale development plans that turned the region into an economic center.

The city is home to diverse communities whose traditions shape the streets and local markets throughout the area. You'll notice temples, mosques, and churches standing close together, reflecting how different religions coexist in daily life.

The city connects easily to Singapore via an expressway, and a ferry terminal provides access to Indonesian islands. Visitors should understand the area is very large and it works best to explore individual zones separately.

A large portion of the city is devoted to education, with several international universities grouped on a dedicated campus. This area draws students from around the world and creates a special academic environment within the larger urban development.
