Kota Iskandar Mosque

Kota Iskandar Mosque is a modern prayer complex in Iskandar Puteri with space for several thousand worshippers spread across a large footprint. The main prayer hall opens onto covered corridors that provide additional space for those gathered to pray.

The building took shape in the 2010s through a partnership between the Johor state government and a private developer. Its completion marked the finish of an ambitious construction project for the new city.

Quranic verses are woven into the interior design as visual elements that guide visitors through the spaces. The architectural choices reflect how the building shapes the prayer experience for those who enter.

The site offers ample parking areas and clearly marked pedestrian routes and access points. The layout is straightforward enough that visitors can navigate the grounds without needing detailed guidance.

The roof features a glass dome structure that allows daylight to filter through while naturally regulating the interior temperature. This design creates a distinctive quality of light in the prayer space.
