The Hive features twelve concrete towers arranged around a central atrium, with rounded tutorial rooms and metal balconies across eight floors.
Completed in 2015 at Nanyang Technological University with a construction cost of 45 million dollars under the direction of British architect Thomas Heatherwick.
The design of the Learning Hub supports the flipped classroom method where students watch lectures online before attending interactive discussion sessions.
The structure contains 56 learning spaces with advanced technological capabilities, enabling various configurations for different teaching requirements throughout the academic year.
The exterior concrete walls display horizontal patterns created through silicone molds, while garden terraces provide spaces for informal gatherings between classes.
