The Sultan Mahmud Mangkat Di Julang Mausoleum is a royal burial site in Kota Tinggi featuring white walls and Moorish-Malay design elements. The long structure is crowned by a minaret and houses the resting place of a 17th-century ruler.
The ruler buried here was the last Sultan of Johor from the Malacca Sultanate line and died violently in 1699 during Friday prayers. His admiral killed him following a dispute over a jackfruit, marking the end of the dynasty.
