Sungai Johor Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge on Senai-Desaru Expressway, Malaysia.
Sungai Johor Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Johor River with a total span of about 1,700 meters (5,577 feet). Two tall pylons stand out against the sky and define the structure as vehicles pass over the river.
Construction started in 2005 and the bridge opened in 2011 after facing several delays during its development. This major infrastructure project transformed transportation links across the Johor River region.
The bridge stands as a symbol of Malaysian engineering excellence, connecting the communities of Pulau Juling in Johor Bahru District with Tanjung Penyabong in Kota Tinggi District.
The bridge accommodates motor vehicles on two lanes per direction across the river. It provides a main route connecting eastern and western areas via the Senai-Desaru Expressway.
This structure holds the record for the longest main span of any river bridge in Malaysia at 500 meters between its support towers. This impressive span allows large vessels to pass freely beneath it.
