Bugis Museum

The Bugis Museum in Rambah is a place where visitors can explore objects from the history and culture of the Bugis community. The collection includes traditional clothing, maritime objects, weapons, and historical photographs that record the heritage of this group.

The museum was founded in 1982 by Abdullah Bin Ahmad to preserve the heritage of the Bugis community. This group originally migrated from Sulawesi and became influential traders throughout Malaysia.

The museum displays traditional clothing and written works that reflect the language and cultural identity of the Bugis community. Visitors can see how this group has preserved its traditions through craftsmanship and literary expression.

Visiting during daytime hours is best, as the full exhibition becomes accessible and all details are clearly visible. The building is easy to reach on foot and has plenty of space to explore across two floors.

The building displays an authentic sailing vessel called a prahu that brings the maritime traditions of the Bugis community to life. Together with a collection of earthenware pottery, this shows how deeply craftsmanship is rooted in this community's history.
