Bugis Museum, Cultural museum in Rambah, Malaysia

The Bugis Museum in Rambah is a place where visitors can explore objects from the history and culture of the Bugis community. The collection includes traditional clothing, maritime objects, weapons, and historical photographs that record the heritage of this group.

The museum opened in 1982 as Warisan Bugis, built by local residents who collected historical items linked to the Bugis, who came to the Malay Peninsula after Makassar in Sulawesi was attacked and captured by the Dutch. On 26 July 1994 the Johor state government backed it through the Johor Heritage Foundation and declared it Malaysia's first Bugis museum. In October 2016 the Governor of South Sulawesi, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, visited and met local Bugis residents.

The museum displays traditional clothing and written works that reflect the language and cultural identity of the Bugis community. Visitors can see how this group has preserved its traditions through craftsmanship and literary expression.

The museum is in Kampung Teluk Kerang, Pontian District, Johor, and opens daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry is free, though visitors may leave a voluntary donation. It occupies a building in traditional Malaysian architectural style, and the collection is not professionally managed, so some items are no longer in good condition.
