Kelam Cave

Kelam Cave is a limestone formation in Perlis with a tunnel system that winds through natural rock chambers. A wooden walkway runs through the passages, allowing visitors to move through different sections of the cavern.

The cave served a practical purpose during mid-20th century mining operations in the region. A British engineer helped create a passage that made the space usable for those operations.

This place has long drawn people seeking relief from the heat and connection with the natural landscape around them. Today, visitors come to walk through and experience how the cool interior offers escape from the tropical climate outside.

Wear sturdy shoes with good grip since the floor can be uneven in places. Bringing a flashlight or headlamp helps you see details in the darker sections, even though there is some lighting inside.

The cave divides into two separate sections where you enter at one point and exit at another. This layout creates a sense of journey rather than simply retracing your steps back out.
