Kedah State Museum

The Kedah State Museum displays thousands of artifacts across multiple exhibition halls, documenting the development of civilization in northern Malaysia through archaeological findings and historical items.

The museum, which opened its doors on February 3, 1957, operates from a building constructed in 1936 that previously served as the administrative center for the region.

The museum exhibits include early Chinese porcelain, traditional Malay costumes, and archaeological discoveries from the Bujang Valley, representing centuries of cultural exchange in the region.

Located on Jalan Bakar Bata, Lebuhraya Darul Aman, the museum welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM without charging an entrance fee.

The museum houses a ceremonial gold tree that was created as a tribute to Thailand, symbolizing the historical diplomatic relations between the two territories.
