Awana Skyway, Gondola lift system in Bentong, Malaysia

Awana Skyway is a gondola system in the Genting Highlands that connects three main points: the Awana Transport Hub, the Chin Swee Temple, and the SkyAvenue terminal. The route travels a long distance through the mountain terrain, supported by multiple pylons that hold the cable system in place.

The first Awana Skyway opened in 1975 as Malaysia's first cable-car system, an aerial tramway linking the Awana Golf & Country Resort area with the hilltop hotels. It ran until 1 April 2014, when it was decommissioned for the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan. The replacement gondola lift, built on a new alignment by Leitner Ropeways, opened on 22 December 2016 alongside SkyAvenue.

The line's middle stop, Chin Swee Station, serves the Chin Swee Caves Temple; riders holding a base-to-summit ticket may get off to visit the temple complex and re-board toward their destination on the same ticket. The station is named after the temple, which sits on the hillside below the resort summit.

The journey takes about 10 minutes, and you should expect the cabins to move continuously without stopping. It is better to travel early in the day or during quieter times to avoid long waits.

Several of the cabins have glass floors, which lets passengers look straight down during the ride. This unusual feature gives travelers a special view of the mountain landscape passing beneath them.
