Pic de Sanfonts

Pic de Sanfonts is a mountain summit in northwest Andorra reaching 2,894 meters in elevation. The peak displays varied rock formations and alpine plant species across its slopes and ridges.

The mountain served as a natural border marker between Andorra and Spain since the 13th century. This location influenced territorial agreements between the two countries across the centuries.

Local shepherds maintain ancient grazing practices on the mountain slopes, preserving traditional methods of livestock management passed through generations.

The summit is accessible via marked trails from Arinsal, with summer months from June to September providing optimal climbing conditions. Hikers should prepare sturdy footwear and bring adequate water for the high-altitude hike.

The peak functions as a subsidiary summit to Coma Pedrosa, rising about 150 meters above its prominence threshold. This distinction places it among the eight highest mountains in Andorra.
