Dubai International City

Dubai International City is a residential complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, distributing apartment blocks and commercial spaces across themed districts. The development arranges its buildings around squares and avenues named after countries.

Construction started in the early 2000s when Dubai sought additional housing for workers from abroad. Planners divided the site by country themes to help sales to different buyer groups.

Neighborhoods carry names like China or Spain and show building styles from those countries in facades and squares. Streets and gardens in each district pick up motifs from the particular region, from courtyards to roof shapes.

The development sits east of the center and connects by several bus lines. Individual districts border each other directly, so you can walk between them.

Dragon Mart sits in the Chinese district and draws traders and buyers from the Gulf states. The building runs more than one kilometer long and houses hundreds of small shops with imported goods.
