Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Art museum in United Arab Emirates
The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a planned art museum, to be located in Saadiyat Island cultural district in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Upon completion, it is planned to be the largest of the Guggenheim museums. Architect Frank Gehry designed the building.
The museum collection will encompass art in all mediums produced around the world from the 1960s to the present day.
The museum is part of a larger district of cultural institutions that include Zayed National Museum and Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The museum's design was inspired by traditional Islamic architecture and is intended to appear as a pile of blocks in the desert.
