Wafi Mall, WAFI, a distinctive shopping and leisure destination, opened in 1991 as one of the first malls in Dubai to offer a unique mix of retail, leisure, dining and entertainment
Wafi Mall is a shopping centre in Dubai built around an Egyptian architectural theme, with pyramid-shaped roofs, stained glass, and decorated columns throughout. The centre spreads across several floors with shops, restaurants, and a spa.
The centre opened in the 1990s and was one of the first in Dubai to be built around a single, consistent architectural concept. It belongs to the Wafi Group, which later expanded the site to include hotels and residential properties.
The centre is easy to reach by car and has a large parking area on site, though public transport options are also available nearby. Visiting in the early evening tends to be more comfortable than during the midday hours.
Beneath the shopping centre lies Khan Murjan, an underground souk designed to look like a medieval Arabic market. Its corridors are lined with mosaics and carved woodwork, and the stalls sell handcrafted goods from across the Arab world.
