Dubai Frame, Architectural structure in Zabeel Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dubai Frame is a rectangular portal standing 150 meters tall and 93 meters wide in the heart of Zabeel Park. The structure consists of a gilded frame with an observation deck at the top and a glass bridge linking both vertical towers.
Construction began in 2013 and finished in January 2018. The project emerged from an international architecture competition and was intended to unite the past and present of the city in a single structure.
The golden exterior references traditional Arabic ornamentation and catches sunlight across the park. Inside, visitors walk through a timeline connecting the lives of fishermen and pearl divers with the city as it appears today.
An elevator system brings visitors to the observation platform in about 75 seconds. Access is limited to a set number of people per hour to ensure comfort and safety on the glass deck.
The glass bridge allows simultaneous views of older neighborhoods to the north and high-rises to the south. Looking down, visitors can see the park and people below through the transparent floor.
