The construction process started in May 2015 and required over 11,000 tonnes of steel to complete the engineering project.
Each of the 48 cabins represents the fusion of modern engineering with Dubai's commitment to large-scale architectural achievements.
The wheel rotation takes 38 minutes for a complete circuit, allowing visitors to view Dubai's landmarks from multiple angles.
The hub and spindle mechanism weighs 1,800 tonnes and requires specialized maintenance procedures to keep the wheel functioning.
