Shirgj Monastery, Benedictine monastery ruins in Shirq, Albania
The remaining southern wall of Shirgj Monastery stands near the Buna River, featuring elements of Gothic and Romanesque architectural styles from medieval times.
Queen Helen of Anjou established the monastery in 1290, dedicating it to Saints Sergius and Bacchus while incorporating an existing structure from the sixth century.
The monastery served as a royal mausoleum for Catholic members of the Serbian Vojislavljević dynasty, including figures like Mihailo I and Constantine Bodin.
