Description
Dilijan is a mountain town in Tavush Region situated at approximately 1500 meters elevation. Dense forests surround winding streets lined with stone buildings featuring wooden balconies, while natural mineral springs emerge throughout the area.
History
Archaeological evidence shows the area was occupied during Bronze and Iron Ages before becoming a summer retreat for Arsacid rulers. The monastic complexes developed between the 10th and 13th centuries and established the town's religious foundation.
