Republican Stadium is a football ground in the Kentron District of Yerevan that holds around 14,400 spectators and includes electronic entry systems, VIP seating areas, and security cameras. The complex offers ten restrooms, press conference rooms, working spaces for journalists, and dedicated photographer zones along the pitch.
Construction started in 1933 under the name Dinamo, and the first football match took place in June 1935 between Yerevan Spartak and Moscow CBCT. Architect Koryun Hakobyan led a major renovation in 1963, linking the ground with surrounding gardens into a connected green network.
The ground carries the name of Vazgen Sargsyan and holds protected status, marking its place in national memory. Local fans regularly gather here for national team matches, filling the stands with flags and chants that echo through the neighborhood.
The ground operates year-round and provides facilities including restrooms, press areas, and photographer zones close to the pitch. Visitors coming from the city center can reach it on foot or by public transport that stops nearby.
Architect Koryun Hakobyan linked the ground with surrounding gardens during the 1963 renovation through an interconnected green space system. This design allowed visitors to move from one park to another without leaving the sports complex.
