Mausoleum of Néstor Kirchner

The Mausoleum of Néstor Kirchner is a modern structure made of marble and concrete in Río Gallegos, standing approximately 11 meters tall. A wooden entrance door leads inside to a central chamber holding the sarcophagus, with a triangular monument in front representing Argentina's national territory.

The mausoleum was built in 2011 to house the remains of former Argentine President Néstor Kirchner, who governed the country from 2003 to 2007. Construction took place after his death in 2010, creating a dedicated memorial at this significant location.

The building displays the Argentine flag and features a fountain with two eternal flames that visitors encounter when arriving. The solemn atmosphere reflects the site's importance to the local community and those who remember the former president's time in office.

Visitors must pass through security checks and surrender mobile phones before entering the site. Due to limited capacity inside, expect waiting times, especially on weekends and public holidays.

The site contains not only Néstor Kirchner's remains but also those of his parents, including his mother Ana María Ostoic who died in 2013. This makes it a family memorial that extends beyond a single historical figure.
